So, i haven't blogged in a while, but i feel like I should probably talk about the race today. we ran an easy 3 in the morning, then raced in the afternoon. Basically, we decided we should have our A group boys stick with Casey Kimzey. So, for the first mile and a half to two miles, me, Brigham Whitney, and Kris Hansen stuck with him. Brigham and Kris were just ahead of him with me on his hip. After a while, coach gave us the signal, and Brigham and Kris just took off. I stayed right behind him for a little while, but eventually I moved on and passed him with close to 800m left. My teammate Ben Powell, passed me at about the same time, so we now had 4 runners in the top group. I ended up taking 9th overall, just behind Ben, who took 7th, and ahead of Kimzey who took 10th. It was a great race, and I'm psyched for the rest of the season. |
